I have a weakness to The XX. In the sea of shallow indie-rock, where everything sounds the same, they are one of the very few shining stars worth of attention, so I’m always open for remixes of their songs. Here’a really good one.

Cowboys & Indians “Permanent Revolution”
Sitar (or sarod) and rhythm in this track caught me in Lee jeans commercial many years ago. Oh God..I was so happy to find it on some compilation. There were no Shazzam or Sound Hound apps like these days ;-)
Mount Kimbie “Made To Stray”
Structure of this tune reminds me Plaid’s “Ol”, which starts with harsh beat and develops to something great. Here’s the same pattern, and it’s also damn good with these vocals in the second part.
Winter Flags “Winter Flags”
Got to slow down with tempo after few drum’n’bass tunes. Great lazy and gentle sound landscape here.
The Winter Flags is a another nickname of a guy called Gacha and his new album released under a new name is a good example, how music which is in no way revealing can be great to listen. None of the seven tracks on the album you can buy here brings something new to the music, but these simple electronic sounds drifting between downtempo and light deep-house are so good to be with you on and on.
We have quite ugly weather in Warsaw nowadays, and second day long Winter Flags are looped on my Spotify making me this grey landscape outside the window much more bearable.
Kosheen “Overkill”
Gus Gus “Anthem”
Coldcut “Walk A Mile In My Shoes”
Massive Attack “Girl I Love You” (feat. Horace Andy)
Rhye “3 Days”
One of my favourite songs of this summer.
